The PokerListings VIP Champion Camp gives you the opportunity to freeroll yourself into a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat and a sick schedule of VIP events in Las Vegas.

I know what you’re thinking. Why is he making me read all these words when a slick video teaser would do the job in 60 seconds?

Booyakasha.

We’ve got the full schedule broken down for you on our WSOP How to Qualify page, along with details about which poker rooms you can qualify through and when each of the qualifying tournaments is going down.

We’re going to have up to ten of these packages available so you’ll have plenty of choices of where to qualify.

Take it from us; you want to play the Main Event. There isn’t another tournament that even comes close in terms of the skill to prize-pool ratio. Don’t be surprised if you hear someone at your table ask, “Does a flush beat a straight?”

If you’re new to Vegas and a little unsure about how to get the most out of the trip, don’t worry. Let us show you our Vegas, the insider’s Vegas.

We’ve got VIP events lined up for every night you’re here and if you’ve got what it takes to go truly deep in the Main Event, the prizes only get better.

Stout’s Sunday Report: April 11, 2010

April 15, 2010 by

Total tournaments played: 42

Total amount of buy-ins: $9,530.10

Total cashes: 2

- 185/1779 in Full Tilt $163, $293.53

- 12/3828 in Full Tilt $216/$750k gtd, $7,349.56

Total amount of cashes/bounties: $1,636.81

Length of session: 14:31

Net win/loss for the day: -$1,636.81

Net win/loss online on Sundays since the start of the Sunday Report (February 7, 2010): +$2,715.97

Well, at least I got a good sweat out of the $750k guaranteed … even if it came with a little heartache.

I had a pretty big stack for most of the tournament and did my best to put a lot of focus on this over my other tables. I feel I played really well for most of the tournament and was happy to that end.

I actually almost made the sickest comeback of my career to final table this thing. I was crippled to ~35k @ 14/28k but played patiently and folded a few hands. Eventually I managed to run it back up to about 600k in two levels!

Unfortunately, I ended up running A-J into A-K at 17/34k when we were playing shorthanded near the final table bubble. Either way, it just reinforces a crucial concept in poker tournaments: DON’T EVER GIVE UP. In fact, I think I’m just going to turn that into its own future blog post since it’s so important.

Video of Phil Hellmuth’s Bust at Bay 101 (Crying)

March 17, 2010 by

A couple of days ago we got really excited about a WPT final table. Something we thought might never happen again after being forced to sit through this year’s LAPC finale.

The reason was Phil Hellmuth. He made the final six of Bay 101 and, as you’ve probably heard, had a bit of a breakdown when he took a bad beat and busted in sixth.

We had only heard accounts of the scene, and seen a few pics, but today we’ve dug up video evidence.

Some sneaky fan recorded this on his mobile device so it’s not exactly HD, but it does get the point across.

Hellmuth gets it in with queens against an ace and gets rivered. He stands up, shakes hands and then gets down on his hands and knees in the corner for five minutes.

In the past Hellmuth’s antics have been unsportsmanlike, obnoxious and just plain rude but never before has he got down on his hands and knees and wept. This final table is a great accomplishment and the fact he went out to a bad beat shouldn’t ruin that for him.

Don’t be sad. Be glad!
